Tech Sources Claim iPad Pro to Come in First Half of 2020 with 3D Sensors

Sources claim Apple is planning to launch the brand new pro tablet “as early as” the first half of 2020, and that it might include both two cameras in addition to a Face ID-like 3D sensor system to assist people in creating “reconstructions of rooms, objects, and people.” The rumored 3D sensor on iPhones would come later — users might have to get the iPad Pro if they want Apple’s first crack at the new augmented reality technology.

The same leak further reiterated an earlier The Information report claiming that Apple plans to launch a combined AR and VR headset in 2022 (possibly in 2021) followed by AR glasses in 2023. The earlier report prompted the headset would have high-resolution screens and a sophisticated AR experience that might let people walk in front of and behind AR objects.

This would not be good news if one was waiting for an updated iPad Pro. If correct, the brand new slate would arrive roughly a year and a half after the current unit. It does suggest the brand new Pro will not be only a mild refresh, although, so it might be a better option if someone is itching for a high-end tablet and expecting significant improvement.
