HelpSystems’ firm Clearswift, which provides advanced content threat safety and data breach defense to crucial national infrastructure organizations throughout the globe, researched by Vanson Bourne – a technology research agency.
The corporate polled 100 senior business decision-makers from healthcare organizations in the UK, mapping the attitudes of companies and employees relating to cybersecurity.
One of the most regarding figures that the research unearthed was that 67% of healthcare organizations underwent a cybersecurity incident in the past 12 months and that 48% of the incidents occurred as a result of the introduction of viruses/malware from third-party gadgets, such as IoT devices and USB sticks.
With the continuing uptick in IoT in healthcare, Clearswift notes that the business must focus on securing these devices.
The poll also revealed that other vital causes of security incidents included workers sharing data with unauthorized recipients (39%), customers not following data safety policies (37%), and malicious links in emails and on social media (28%).
